Rachel Maxi has been active in the Northwest visual art community for 15 years. Her work has been presented by Seattle Art Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, Davidson Galleries, Marghitta Feldman Gallery in Portland, and Seattle City Light's Electric Gallery (Union Street Substation). Rachel has successfully participated in COCA's annual Painting Marathon for the last six years.
In October, 2005 Rachel had her fourth and final show at Seattle's Artemis Gallery, featuring oil paintings from the ongoing explorations of urban landscape and still life for which she's widely recognized, as well as new directions in abstraction, framed photography and three-dimensional work in wood and other media.
In November, 2005 one of Rachel's paintings was purchased by the City of Seattle in support of "Structure: Works Inspired by the Built Environment," permanently entering the Seattle Public Utilities Portable Works Collection.
